A Message From Guidance and Counseling Office
The Guidance and Counselling department at Ikutha TVC is designed to facilitate trainees’ achievements, improve their behavior and attendance and help in their social development. Our goal is to support our trainees by developing their needs, and by facilitating their acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to become successful learners both in school and throughout their lives.
At Ikutha TVC, the Guidance and Counseling department provides services aimed at supporting our trainees’ academic and social/emotional growth and development. These services include individual and small group counselling as well as classroom guidance and consultation. In addition to working directly with our trainees, we consult and collaborate with our trainers regarding the developmental concerns and needs of our trainees.
Counsellors often help trainees in:
- Providing instruction on psychological and social issues
- Counselling services
- Maintaining academic standards and set goals for academic success
- Developing skills to improve organization study habit and time management
- Copping with institution or community related violence, accidents and trauma
- Special need services among many others
The G&C department welcomes all prospective trainees to Ikutha Technical and Vocational College, for acquisition of various competencies that we offer.
